Queensland Government announces plan to welcome international students

26 October, 2021

Queensland's Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Minister for Tourism, Innovation and Sport and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics and Paralympics Sport and Engagement Stirling Hinchliffe stated (26-Oct-2021) the return of international students to study in Queensland in 2022. Ms Palaszczuk stated the students will be the first to use the Regional Quarantine Facility at Wellcamp, noting the facility provides a solution so that the students do not displace returning Australian citizens and residents. Ms Palaszczuk provisions for returning international students include:

  • A proportion of students must study at universities outside of Brisbane;
