30 January, 2018

Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade expects a supersonic business jet could be designed in seven to eight years if the groundwork on the engine is completed (TASS/RIA Novosti/Kommersant, 29-Jan-2018). Domestic demand is forecast at up to 30 aircraft for USD100 million to USD120 million each. The Ministry of Industry and Trade considers there is also potential for exports. As previously reported by CAPA, President Vladimir Putin proposed to develop a civil version of the Tupolev Tu-160 supersonic strategic bomber.
