SAA CCO: Voyager loyalty scheme is airline's 'secret weapon'

South African Airways (SAA) CCO Simon Newton-Smith described the airline's Voyager frequent flyer programme as "a secret weapon" (BizNews, 14-Oct-2021). SAA has extended the validity of rewards miles beyond Mar-2022 and confirmed the lifetime status of platinum Voyager members. Mr Newton-Smith said: "All of the partners within Voyager have remained. Now that we're back in business, all of those partnerships are getting reactivated very quickly". He also stated: "We are looking at some innovative partnerships with other lifestyle programmes that essentially could cross-fertilise the member base".
