Short haul operators should look to zero-emissions technologies: easyJet CEO

easyJet CEO Johan Lundrgen stated electric or hydrogen solutions, or a combination of the two, offer a better emissions reduction alternative than sustainable aviation fuels for short haul operators (Aviation International News, 22-Mar-2021). Mr Lundgren also said that 150 to 180 seat aircraft using alternative power/propulsion sources will become available on a large scale, stating that it "is not [a] challenge from a technical point of view," but rather a question of "how we will transition to that".
