Singapore's Transport Minister: Border measures could relax 'within the course of this year'

9 February, 2021

Singapore's Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung reported the country can start to relax some border measures "within the course of this year" due to vaccinations (Bloomberg, 08-Feb-2021). Mr Ong added 2021 will be focused on finding "a new norm" that enables travel to happen, rather than a full recovery. As previously reported by CAPA, Singapore suspended reciprocal green lane arrangements with Germany, Malaysia and South Korea from 01-Feb-2021 to 30-Apr-2021. Singapore's Ministry of Health also updated entry requirements from 24-Jan-2021 in response to the discovery of new COVID-19 strains.
