Singapore’s Transport Minister: Border measures could relax ‘within the course of this year’

Singapore‘s Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung reported the country can start to relax some border measures “within the course of this year” due to vaccinations (Bloomberg, 08-Feb-2021). Mr Ong added 2021 will be focused on finding “a new norm” that enables travel to happen, rather than a full recovery. As previously reported by CAPA, Singapore suspended reciprocal green lane arrangements with Germany, Malaysia and South Korea from 01-Feb-2021 to 30-Apr-2021. Singapore’s Ministry of Health also updated entry requirements from 24-Jan-2021 in response to the discovery of new COVID-19 strains.
