Southwest Airlines adjusts revenue projections for Aug-2021 amid Delta variant-related cancellations

Southwest Airlines submitted a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing on 11-Aug-2021 stating it has "experienced a deceleration in close-in bookings and an increase in close-in trip cancellations" as a result of the Delta variant of the coronavirus (Routes Online/Forbes/The Herald Sun, 12-Aug-2021). The LCC is projected to report an operating revenue of 15%-17% below Aug-2019 pre-pandemic levels, around 3% lower than initial expectations.
