Spirit Airlines planning on low to mid teen capacity growth, fleet order is 'suboptimal' for 2019

6 March, 2018

Spirit Airlines stated (06-Mar-2018) it is planning on low to mid teen capacity growth between 2019 and 2021. The carrier noted its fleet order is "suboptimal" given the remaining opportunities, with its current 2019 aircraft deliveries equating to less than 10% capacity growth in 2019. As a result, Spirit is exploring opportunities that would allow it to grow capacity 13% to 15% in 2019. The carrier also said it felt confident that it can achieve "flattish" CASM ex-fuel in 2019 (Reuters, 06-Mar-2018). [more - original PR]
