Tajikistan and Uzbekistan sign agreements on visa free travel, air communication and tourism

Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed (09-Mar-2018) agreements on cooperation on air communication, mutual trips of citizens and tourism cooperation. Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon said an agreement was reached on the abolition of the visa regime for up to 30 days and the gradual resumption of the work of all 16 border crossing points on the borders between the countries. Mr Rahmon added: "Currently, the direct air routes operate between the capitals of our countries and, thanks to the bilateral documents that we signed today, in the near future the air and road connections between other cities will also resume".
