Transport & Environment UK (T&E UK) policy manager Matt Finch said zero emissions aircraft and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) will not be "widely available" into the 2030s, although the aviation industry is "touting these as a way to decarbonise now" (Bloomberg, 16-Sep-2021). Mr Finch said that if the UK was "serious about decarbonising" aviation, then the UK Government "would openly ask for policies that restrict the growth in demand".
