Thailand's airlines request meeting with PM to discuss soft loan proposal

Thai Airlines Association requested a meeting with Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to discuss progress on a proposal to offer the carriers soft loans (Bangkok Post/The Thaiger, 13-May-2021). The association, consisting of Thai AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Smile, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet Air is requesting THB14 billion (USD446.7 million) in soft loans to sustain operations. It has also called on government to provide vaccines to airline staff.
