Tourism Research Australia: International visitors expected to be 75% down for 2021

Tourism Research Australia reported (Apr-2021) the following highlights for the short term outlook of international tourism:

  • Under the most likely scenario, the number of international visitors for 2021 is expected to be 2.5 million. This is 75% below the non-coronavirus forecast, with some improvement in the second 2H2021.
  • The optimistic scenario expects 3.6 million visitors, which is a 64% reduction compared to the non-coronavirus forecast;
