Trans Maldivian Airways to acquire ATR aircraft

24 February, 2021

Trans Maldivian Airways plans to acquire ATR aircraft in 2021 in order to commence non-seaplane domestic services (Avas Maldives/Times of Addu, 23-Feb-2021). Seaplanes are only permitted to be operated during the day in the Maldives, so acquiring ATR aircraft will enable Trans Maldivian to operate night time services. The airline plans to utilise Madivaru Airport as a hub for its non-seaplane aircraft once the airport opens.
