Transat introduces COVID-19 Emergency Medical Certificate of Insurance

Transat announced (25-Sep-2020) it will grant passengers access to a COVID-19 Emergency Medical Certificate of Insurance, via Manulife. Customers will be eligible for this insurance at no extra cost, if they book a roundtrip service from Canada to an international Air Transat destination or a Transat package to Mexico, Central/South America or the Caribbean from 25-Sep-2020 to 31-Oct-2020 for stays of up to 21 days between 01-Oct-2020 and 30-Apr-2021. The coverage will be automatically included in the purchase of the flight or ticket, and will include up to CAD200,000 (USD149,520) per insured person for medical and hospital expenses and up to CAD150 (USD112) a day per insured person for accommodation costs during quarantine or isolation for a maximum of 14 days.
