5 August, 2020

TUI Group CEO Fritz Joussen reported the company aims to adjust its structure to facilitate access to capacity without the need to have aircraft assets on its own balance sheet (Börsen-Zeitung, 05-Aug-2020). He added that TUI's airline business should become more "partner-capable". Mr Joussen also reiterated its German subsidiary TUIfly plans to shrink its fleet size from 39 to 17 aircraft, with aircraft to also be phased out at TUI subsidiaries in Sweden and the UK.
