United Airlines expands COVID-19 testing programme to Houston George Bush Airport

United Airlines announced (23-Nov-2020) the expansion of its COVID-19 testing programme to include services from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport to the following Latin American/Caribbean airports, effective 07-Dec-2020:

  • Aruba Queen Beatrix International Airport;
  • Belize City Philip SW Goldson International Airport;
  • Guatemala City La Aurora Airport;
  • Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport;
  • Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport;
  • Panama City Tocumen International Airport;
  • Roatan Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport;
  • San Pedro Sula Ramon Villeda Morales Airport;
  • San Salvador Monseñor Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport;
  • Tegucigalpa Toncontin International Airport.

The COVID-19 test is administered and processed by Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory, and costs USD119. United stated it is witnessing positive impacts to travel demand and significant increases in load factors and revenue when testing options are available, with services from San Francisco to Hawaii experiencing a nearly 95% increase in passengers compared to two weeks prior to when the COVID-19 test was offered.
