US FAA proposes establishing new airspace areas around the Hawaiian islands

12 April, 2018

US FAA proposed (12-Apr-2018) an action to establish the 'Hawaiian High and Hawaiian Low Offshore' airspace area. The proposed action would establish Class A airspace extending upward from 18,000ft to and including flight level (FL) 600; and Class E airspace, extending upward from 1200ft to and including 17,999ft around the Hawaiian Islands. The FAA is proposing this action to provide additional airspace within which domestic ATC procedures would be used. Establishment of the Class A and Class E airspaces would enhance the management of air traffic operations and result in more efficient use of that airspace. Comments on the proposal must be received by 29-May-2018. [more - original PR]
