US President elect Joe Biden to reverse order lifting travel restrictions from Europe and Brazil

US President elect Joe Biden's spokesperson Jen Psaki, via her official Twitter account, stated (19-Jan-2021) Mr Biden plans to reverse an order signed by outgoing President Donald Trump to lift travel restrictions from parts of Europe and Brazil (Reuters/Bloomberg, 19-Jan-2021). Ms Psaki stated: "We plan to strengthen public health measures around international travel in order to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19". The restrictions, put in place in Mar-2020, prohibited entry to nearly all non US citizens who had visited Brazil, the UK, Ireland and 26 countries of the Schengen area in Europe.
