Vietnam's MoT to support VietJet's proposed USD57.7m expansion at Dien Bien Phu Airport

Vietnam's Ministry of Transport (MoT) stated it will support VietJet Air's proposed expansion of Dien Bien Phu Airport (english.vov.vn, 24-Mar-2019). The carrier requested the Dien Bien People's Committee invest VND1.34 trillion (USD57.7 million) to cover new facilities including runways, a taxiway apron, roads and a new air traffic control tower. It also proposed building a 16,000sqm passenger terminal to accommodate two million passengers p/a. Airports Corporation of Vietnam would retain its position as operator of the airport.
