Virgin Australia seeks determination renewal for Indonesia, Papua New Guinea routes

Virgin Australia, in an application to Australia's International Air Services Commission (IASC), stated (15-May-2018) the carrier is interested in renewing Indonesia and Papua New Guinea determinations allocating capacity to Virgin Australia which are due to expire within the next 12 months as follows:

  • Indonesia route - [2013] IASC 130: Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (VAIA) continues to operate services to Indonesia utilising capacity allocated under [2013] IASC 130. The carrier is seeking renewal of this Determination (as varied by [2013] IASC 225 and [2015] IASC 210), including all relevant conditions, for a period of five years from 11-May-2019;
  • Papua New Guinea route - [2014] IASC 108 Virgin Australia Airlines (SE Asia) Pty Ltd continues to operate services to Papua New Guinea utilising capacity allocated under Determination [2014] IASC 108. The carrier is seeking renewal of this determination, including all relevant conditions, fora period of five years from 20-May-2019;
  • Indonesia route - [2013] IASC 131: VAIA continues to operate services to Indonesia utilising capacity allocated under [2013] IASC 131.
