Wellington Airport outlines terminal upgrade programme, new hotel and car park

Wellington Airport outlined (03-Jul-2018) the following planned improvements following the commencement of its NZD15 million (USD10 million) main terminal upgrade:

  • Redistributing two large air conditioning units from the main terminal's level one into the airport's ceiling space, where the current food court is located;
  • Terminal refurbishment will result in the largest visual change to the main terminal since the current terminal opened in 1999;
  • Upgrade covers approximately 6000sqm;
  • Enhanced retail and dining options;
  • New multi level car park and transport hub and a 134 room hotel to be operated by Rydges both due to open in 2018;
  • Combined works to be carried out progressively over the next 12 months. [more - original PR]
