WOW air: Primera Air bankruptcy ‘changed the attitude of suppliers’

WOW air CEO Skúli Mogensen said “the external environment of airlines has been very difficult in recent years”, attributing the bankruptcy of Primera Air in 2018 to changing the attitude of suppliers that “demanded more insurance and cash arrangements” during transactions (, 03-Apr-2019). Mr Mogensen added “this had enormous consequences in a very short time”. He also noted the carrier’s sales declined due to “a poor record that weakened public confidence in the company” and attributed the value of the Icelandic Króna, rising oil prices and strikes to its bankruptcy.
