WSA CEO touts flexibility of greenfield airport development without curfew or movement caps

19 September, 2019

Western Sydney Airport CEO Graham Millett reported (19-Sep-2019) the airport's "close engagement" with Qantas Group and Virgin Australia Group has "already helped shape the design and operational planning of Western Sydney International." WAS and the two airline groups signed MoUs earlier in 2019. Mr Millett said the airport intends to "create a service-focused, stress-free experience for passengers and increased reliability and efficiency for airlines". He stated that as the airport does not face an operating curfew or movement restrictions, it will "unlock capacity to Sydney at times that suit the local time zones of both full service and low cost carriers from across the world" and create flexibility for Australian and overseas airlines looking for ways to diversify services.
