WTTC and ETC call for approval 'Digital Green Certificate' proposal

World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and European Travel Commission (ETC) called (25-Mar-2021) on the European Parliament to approve the European Commission 'Digital Green Certificate' proposal. The health passport proposal would create a system facilitating free movement for EU citizens who have been vaccinated, tested negative or recovered from coronavirus. The bodies said that certificates would change the focus "from risk countries to risk passengers" and eliminate the need for quarantine in individual countries, also stating that the system, in tandem with enhanced health measures and mandatory mask wearing, will provide consumer reassurance and "ensure the return of safe international travel".
