Accor adds Sofitel & Emblems properties at Hann Lux Philippines resort; opens Ibis Styles in Bangkok

Accor will add Sofitel and Emblems properties within the Hann Lux resort in the Philippines, while its has opened a flagship hotel under its budget Ibis Styles brand in Thailand's capital. The growth follows the recent debut of the MGallery brand in the Philippines and the first Grand Mercure property in Solo, Indonesia.

Accor is expanding its presence in the Philippines with the signing of two new properties in Clark City. Located within a luxury integrated resort, Hann Lux, Sofitel Clark and Emblems Clark will offer convenient access to high-end fashion stores, French inspired cafes and convention facilities.

Sofitel Clark will comprise 300 guest rooms while the Emblems Clark will feature 200 guest rooms. The landmark multi-agreement signing will see the expansion of a well-established partnership between Hann and Accor to six hotels in Clark, Philippines.

The Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) is located in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines, with an array of golf courses, MICE offerings and casinos. The city is easily accessible by way of Clark International Airport or by car from Metro Manila.

Accor is one of the leading international operators in the Philippines with 10 hotels across three regions and a strong pipeline of 14 committed projects across the country. In 2019, Accor and Hann signed multi-agreements for Banyan Tree Clark, Angsana Clark, Mercure Clark and Swissôtel Clark. The first phase of Swissôtel Clark launched in Feb-2022, with the broader hotel complex set to debut later this year, featuring 372 rooms and five vibrant restaurants and bars.

The Sofitel family today counts over 120 hotels across 47 countries with more than 20 hotels in the pipeline. Emblems Clark will join an up-and-coming collection of emblematic hotels within Accor's luxury portfolio. The Emblems Collection, launched in 2021, was created to bring together "truly iconic hotels that are a symbol of luxury,". Accor aims to open 60 Emblems properties around the world by 2030.

Admiral Hotel Manila - MGallery debuts brand in Philippines

The expansion in the Philippines follows hot on the heels of the debut of the MGallery brand in the Philippines. The 123-room Admiral Hotel Manila - MGallery is set along Roxas Boulevard with sweeping views across Manila Bay, and a portal to the city's golden era with a distinctive blend of modern Filipino-Spanish and Art Deco design reminiscent of Manila in the early 1940s.

New flagship ibis Styles opens in Bangkok

Outside of the Philippines, Accor has opened a flagship ibis Styles property in the Thai capital, Bangkok. The brand new ibis Styles Bangkok Silom is located in one of the city's most important business and entertainment districts with easy access to Sala Daeng BTS Skytrain and Silom MRT subway stations.

The hotel offers 264 rooms, across five different room configurations, including Standard Rooms, Premium Balcony Rooms, and Family Suites.

The property has collaborated with Thai artist, Tikkywow, to create the eye-catching mural at the hotel's entrance with vivid pops of colour bursting onto Silom Road. The artist's interpretation of the neighbourhood focusses on the vibrant history of Silom.

Accor introduces first Grand Mercure property in Solo, Indonesia

In Indonesia, Accor has celebrated the opening of Grand Mercure Solo Baru, a 348-key property that joins the MGallery, Novotel and ibis Styles brands in the city in Central Java. Surakarta, also known as Solo, is a prominent destination in Central Java, Indonesia. The tourism sector is rapidly expanding thanks to cultural highlights which showcase Javanese heritage, such as textile centres specialising in wax-dyed 'batik' fabrics.

Accor also pursues expansion in the Middle East

Accor will welcome its latest United Arab Emirates (UAE) property as it pursues expansion in the Middle Eastern country. Its fifth Rixos hotel in the UAE, Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi, will boost its property count to 73 with 23,512 keys with a UAE pipeline to 19 properties comprising 5,619 rooms.

The Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi will offer a fusion of Arabian and Turkish dining and hospitality in the UAE. The resort will boast expansive food and beverage offerings with restaurants, lounges, bars and food trucks. Leisure and recreation facilities include an entertainment square, a beach club, a VIP pier bar and lounge. More than 2,800 square metres of meeting space is available, including a 1,250 square metre ballroom divisible into four rooms.

The continued growth in UAE will see the arrival in 1Q 2023 of So/ Uptown Dubai, an 188 key-site of guestrooms and residences in uptown Dubai's first super-tall tower. The same Emirate will also welcome MGallery by Sofitel Dubai Business Bay in 2025, comprising 144 rooms.
