DATA SPOTLIGHT: Air China

30 March, 2020

This year The Blue Swan Daily will feature some of the leading airlines, airports and country markets for air travel. Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA - Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot, we look at Air China, the state controlled flag carrier of China.

The airline is one of a few in the world right now that has been growing its operations as China appears to have effectively overcome COVID-19. This is mainly just in the domestic market currently as there are fears that nationals returning from abroad could cause another spike. As such, while Air China is reintroducing many international flights, these are operating at a restricted frequency of just weekly rotations through to the end of May-2020 to maintain connectivity, but limit the traffic flows.
