Pan Pacific to double serviced suites portfolio by 2023 to meet growth for extended-stay properties

Pan Pacific Hotels Group will double its serviced suites portfolio by 2023, with new openings in key gateway cities such as Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Nairobi. This comes under the Group's latest wave of expansion, which will increase its global development portfolio by 50%, adding more than 4,000 keys by 2023.

The expansion will secure the company's position in key gateway cities and prime locations around the world, capturing the burgeoning long-stay demand in developing markets and key business hubs."

The extended-stay segment has "continued to bring us strong performance, even more so in the last two years," according to Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer, Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

"We foresee that this market will continue to grow as demand increases for corporate long-stay and relocation in regional business hubs," he adds.

Pan Pacific, a subsidiary of the Singapore-listed UOL Group Limited, owns and/or manages more than 50 hotels, resorts and serviced suites across three brands - Pan Pacific, Park Royal Collection and Park Royal - encompassing more than 30 cities across Asia Pacific, North America and Europe.

New arrivals in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur

The latest arrival to the portfolio is the Park Royal Suites Bangkok which opened in Nov-2022. Located at Sukhumvit Soi 6, the epicentre of Bangkok's commercial district it affords easy access to upscale shopping malls including Central Embassy and Terminal 21.

It has 194 keys, comprising Executive Studios and two-Bedroom Executive units.

Meanwhile, at the start of Dec-2022 the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur will open as a sanctuary for long-stay guests in the prime address of Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur's energetic Golden Triangle city centre.

Comprising 210 luxurious suites in one- or two-bedroom layouts, each suite offers modern comforts for a sophisticated living experience.

Nairobi, Hanoi and Jakarta properties to debut in 2023

Looking just ahead and opening in early-2023 will be the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Nairobi, Pan Pacific first foray into Africa. Seated in one of Africa's prime business hubs for technology and innovation, it will provide convenience and comfort for residents within the thriving African business capital, where multinational companies and start-ups are springing forth.

Located in Kenya's affluent Westlands business district, the 26-storey building occupies one tower in the opulent gated complex of Global Trade Centre (GTC) Nairobi, surrounded by the embassy and financial districts of Kenya's capital city. It will offer 128 luxury keys comprising one- and two-bedroom suites as well as penthouses.

Also due to open in early 2023 will be the Park Royal Serviced Suites Hanoi, bringing 122 keys to the banks of West Lake, Hanoi's largest freshwater lake.

The property is located just 15 minutes away from Ba Binh and Hoan Kiem, Hanoi's key business, commercial and tourist districts, while commanding panoramic views of landmarks such as the Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple and Phu Tay Ho temple.

Further out in 2023, the Park Royal Serviced Suites Jakarta will plant Pan Pacific Hotels Group's flag in Indonesia within the prestigious Thamrin Nine integrated complex. Due to open in Jul-2023 and offering 180 skyline suites the property will connect directly to the upcoming Dukuh Atas MRT Station via an underground link.

It will be the first of the Group's triple-property launch in Jakarta, located within the same tower as sister properties Pan Pacific Jakarta and Park Royal Jakarta, opening in Nov-2023 and Jun-2024 respectively.

Introduces luxury destination hotel in Singapore's iconic Orchard Road commercial district

Pan Pacific will introduce a new luxury destination hotel in the iconic commercial district of Orchard Road. Opening in May-2023, Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore will feature 347 keys within lush, open-air architecture. Its prime address on Orchard Road places it at the doorstep of Orchard station and shopping malls such as Palais Renaissance, ION Orchard, and Isetan Scotts.

Designed by WOHA Architects, the property will add a green spectacle to Singapore's prime shopping belt. It will showcase four high-volume, open-air terraces - Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud - brimming with more than 7,300sqm of foliage that covers more than 200% of the hotel's land area. Every guest room affords an inimitable view of either terrace landscape or the cityscape of Singapore.

Arriving at the property will resemble stepping into a tropical paradise. Guests will be greeted by the verdant Forest Terrace, enveloping the lobby space with rich foliage and cascading water features. A 120m-tall green column towers through the high-volume terrace, creating a spectacle of curling vines and thriving flora that spans the first three storeys of the hotel.

For guests checking into a room between the fifth to tenth storeys, Pan Pacific Orchard's Beach Terrace will transport them to a balmy resort escape in the middle of the city. An outdoor pool runs across the fifth floor, met by sandy shores, tropical foliage that mimic a seaside getaway, and a pool bar for the ultimate beach holiday experience.

Levels 11 to 16 will feature the exquisitely manicured Garden Terrace, featuring an outdoor lawn that stretches beneath the guest rooms, while at the highest levels - the Cloud Terrace occupies the 18th to 23rd storeys - the property provides city's only space for "meeting in the clouds".

Accelerates expansion in Japan with Tokyu Hotels strategic partnership

Earlier this year, Pan Pacific confirmed the arrival of two new hotels in Japan in partnership with Tokyu Hotels. Housed in the heart of vibrant Shinjuku, Bellustar Tokyo, A Pan Pacific Hotel and Hotel Groove Shinjuku, A Park Royal Hotel will present two unique hotel concepts within Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, Shinjuku's new landmark skyscraper complex by architectural firm Kume Sekkei, designer of the Yayoi Kusama Museum in Tokyo.

Due to open in the first half of 2023, the Bellustar Tokyo will showcase the Pan Pacific brand's service and space concept, while the Hotel Groove Shinjuku will display rich local flavours and upscale, modern living.

Overlooking the panorama of the city, the Bellustar Tokyo will be situated on the uppermost 39th to 47th floors and will offer 97 keys. Each room will present a rare luxury of space in Tokyo, ranging between 42sqm and 277sqm in size, with windows spanning seven meters in width for sweeping views of the horizon.

The Hotel Groove Shinjuku will occupy the 18th to 38th floors. Sized from 21sqm to 61sqm, the 538 rooms will be furnished with an eclectic mix of unique art and music, inspired by the energetic entertainment scene of Shinjuku's Kabukicho district.
