Radisson adds hotels across South Asia; projects strong growth in 2022 with key Asia focus

Radisson Hotel Group further strengthened its portfolio in India with the signing of nine new hotels across five brands in 2021. The group continued its ambitious growth and development plan with nearly 200 signings across the world in 2021. It projects a strong growth in 2022 with a key focus on Asia as well as its lifestyle business and extended stay proposition The group plans to add 400 new signed hotels in 2022 in EMEA and Asia alone.

In 2021, Radisson celebrated the opening of key Radisson Collection properties in destinations such as Seville, Venice, Milan, Bodrum, Nanjing, and Shanghai, bringing the brand portfolio to 45 hotels in operation and under development. Radisson Individuals, the group's conversion brand established in 2020, will debut in more than 13 new destinations in 2022 with properties in Russia, UK, India, Belgrade, Athens, Paris, and Istanbul.

Key 2022 openings include the highly anticipated and recently renovated Radisson Collection Hotel, Berlin in Berlin-Mitte; Mansard Riyadh A Radisson Collection Hotel, designed as an homage to the signature Parisian Haussmann style of the mid 1800s; the Radisson Collection Resort, Galle in the popular seaside destination of Sri Lanka and the Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Vía Bilbao, located in the heart of the city, within minutes of Bilbao's iconic attractions.

New Indian properties to add over 1,000 rooms to domestic network in the next three to five years

Located in key gateway cities and emerging destinations, Radisson's new Indian signings will collectively add over 1,000 rooms to its domestic network in the next three to five years. These will add to the opening of 12 new hotels and the Radisson Individuals and Radisson RED brands in India in 2021.

The group announced four hotel signings in the first half of 2021 despite pandemic challenges. These included Classic Grande Imphal, a member of Radisson Individuals, The Elite Narsapura, a member of Radisson Individuals, Park Inn by Radisson Vadodara and Park Inn by Radisson Vellore.

These were followed by five additional signings towards the second half of the year - Radisson Resort Kumbhalgarh, Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, New Gurugram, Park Inn by Radisson Deoghar, Radisson Hotel Jamshedpur, and Park Inn by Radisson Ahmedabad Daslana.

2021: a milestone year for Radisson in India

2021 marked a significant milestone for Radisson as it opened its 100th hotel in India. The country is described as "a key part" of the group's global strategy, according to Zubin Saxena, managing director and vice president, operations, South Asia at Radisson, with an intention "to invest across all parts of our operations".

"Our next phase of growth would be driven by strategic, brand-defining hotel signings and openings that will provide a major uplift to our hotel portfolio and broaden our offerings for guests and owners," he explains.

Growing Indian portfolio meets demand for domestic and experiential travel

Currently, with 105 operating hotels in India, Radisson Hotel Group added 1,161 rooms to its network in 2021 with 12 hotel openings. Its diverse portfolio recorded the addition of hotels and resorts across Dharamshala, Nashik, Lonavala, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Chandigarh, Vizag and Imphal amongst other leisure destinations as the brand moves to support increasing demand for domestic and experiential travel.
