Cebu Pacific Air is hoping Tourism Australia to will commence marketing activities in the Philippines and if Australia reduced the price of a visa for Philippine citizens, leading to a further boost in Filipino visitor numbers.

When China’s remarkable High Speed Rail (HSR) network was being laid out, it was expected that the trains would operate at up to 350km/hr. After a major accident in 2011 at high speed, the top speed was reduced to 300km/hr.

Philippine Airlines ups capacity on Manila – London as 777s return to route

Asian flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will boost its operations between Manila and London Heathrow this winter with the return of its Boeing 777-300ERs on the route from September 19, 2017. The aircraft, which initially served the city pair between November 2013 and August 2014 while PAL awaited the return of its Category 1 US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety rating, will deliver a significant capacity upgrade on the route versus the Airbus A340-300 it will replace.

Asian markets provide best value for money for long haul city breaks from Europe

A trio of Far Eastern cities have been named best value for a long haul city break in a new barometer of costs for holidaymakers in ten cities with flight times of six or more hours from Europe. Research for the Post Office Travel Money Long Haul City Costs Barometer found that Bangkok is the cheapest overall destination, narrowly beating Tokyo and Beijing, while cities in North America were found to be significantly more expensive.

Cathay Pacific adds capacity to Adelaide as competition to China intensifies

Cathay Pacific Airways has boosted capacity in the Adelaide market by 17% with the introduction of a fifth year-round frequency. The extra flight improves Cathay’s position in the South Australia-China market, which is expanding rapidly but became more competitive following the late 2016 launch of services to Adelaide by China Southern Airlines.
