Qantas has finally revealed the names for its fleet of eight Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, the first of which is set to arrive in October this year. Despite a lengthy campaign, unfortunately you won't be seeing Blue Swan streaming across the skies. Thanks Qantas. But maybe next time.

New Samoan airline to take over Virgin Samoa routes with potential assistance from Fiji Airways

The Samoan government is planning to launch a new flag carrier following the dissolution of Virgin Samoa. Fiji Airways is discussing a partnership with the Samoan government which could involve supporting the new airline, which will take over Virgin Samoa's existing services to Australia and New Zealand, and adding capacity on its routes to Samoa from Fiji and Hawaii.

Google Flights is here but the industry isn't happy

Google Flights allows users to compare flights and prices for varying destinations and dates, with options to search by carrier, time and class. Google stated Google Flights will identify the best available flight options for users by searching for terms like "Flights to Cairns" or "Flights to New Zealand".

SilkAir plans to upgrade its premium product in the Cairns market in 4Q2017 after it takes delivery of its first batch of 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The 737 MAX 8 will offer an improved business class product, 50% more spacious, compared to the 737-800 but the same economy product.
