Malaysia Airlines confirms London launch date for A350 services

Malaysia Airlines has updated its flight schedules and confirmed a January 2018 scheduled debut for its new Airbus A350-900 widebodies. As recently suggested by the airline, the type will replace the A380 on its Kuala Lumpur - London Heathrow route, initially on its MH004/MH001 rotation from January 15, 2018 and then also on its MH002/MH003 flight from March 5, 2018.

Cathay Pacific adds capacity to Adelaide as competition to China intensifies

Cathay Pacific Airways has boosted capacity in the Adelaide market by 17% with the introduction of a fifth year-round frequency. The extra flight improves Cathay's position in the South Australia-China market, which is expanding rapidly but became more competitive following the late 2016 launch of services to Adelaide by China Southern Airlines.

Airlines extend their range as Turboprop flying reaches new lengths

Over the weekend it emerged that African carrier Air Tanzania is considering using its expanding regional Dash 8-Q400 turboprop fleet to introduce a new flight linking the tourist centres of Kilimanjaro and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, via the Spice Island of Zanzibar. According to local sources, the four times weekly link could be inaugurated as early as the first quarter of 2018.

British Airways builds on the benefits of incentives to further boost its Transatlantic network

British Airways (BA) hasn't been afraid to expand into new US markets this decade using the efficiency of its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and the leverage of its American Airlines joint venture to successfully introduce flights to Austin and more recently New Orleans. Now Nashville, the capital and largest city of in the state of Tennessee, will join the UK carrier's network from May 2018 when a five times weekly service from London Heathrow is introduced.
