This marks an important step in the recovery process and in particular rejuvenating economies that rely on visitor expenditure. Data from Travelport for 1Q 2022 clearly shows the easing of restrictions is influencing international demand for travel to Southeast Asia.

Looking to the US – where business travel appears to be rebounding

The first round of data from the new Quarterly Business Travel Tracker from JD Power, US Travel Association and Tourism Economics has revealed that business travel is bouncing back strongly in the United States of America, and that is a positive sign for the rest of the world. The research found that more than four in five (84%) business travellers expect to take at least one trip to attend conferences, conventions or trade shows in the next six months.

Understanding tomorrow's travellers: Millennial and Gen Z passengers take increasing share

A dramatically reshaped passenger demographic in the emerging post-Covid environment means the “old rules no longer apply” when it comes to keeping airport passengers happy, according to research from Airport Dimensions, a specialist in designing, building and operating shared-use airport lounges. A seamless digital experience at the airport is “now an essential not a luxury” and airports “need to evolve” to meet changing passenger expectations, it says.
