Air New Zealand Boeing 787-9 fleet interruptions to continue to the end of Oct-2018

6 June, 2018

Air New Zealand announced (06-Jun-2018) the retiming of some international services and a limited number of flight cancellations between 06-Jun-2018 end of Oct-2018, due to a global issue requiring earlier than expected maintenance on some of the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines fitted to its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The carrier will deploy Boeing 777-200/-300 equipment to replace Boeing 787-9s on most of the long haul routes. Air New Zealand stated it is doing all it can to minimise the impact of these unforeseen checks on customers and is also working to secure lease aircraft to help with additional capacity.
