AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia and Thai AirAsia record ‘subdued momentum’ in 2Q2021

    AirAsia Group president Bo Lingam reported (08-Sep-2021) the group posted a “healthy” passenger load factor (PLF) of 68% in 2Q2021, up 9pp due to “active capacity management to match demand”. Philippines AirAsia recorded a 78% PLF, while AirAsia Malaysia, Indonesia AirAsia and Thai AirAsia experienced “subdued momentum” quarter-on-quarter due to rising COVID cases in respective domestic markets. Malaysia AirAsia recorded a 64% year-on-year traffic increase, with Indonesia AirAsia, Philippines AirAsia and Thai AirAsia each increasing traffic by over 100% year-on-year.
