Australia's Government suspends New Zealand Green Zone for 72 hours

15 February, 2021

Australia's Chief Medical Officer Professor Paul Kelly convened (14-Feb-2021) an urgent meeting with Chief Health Officers of states open to the New Zealand Green Zone and decided at this meeting all services originating in New Zealand will be classified as Red Zone flights for an initial period of 72 hours, effective immediately. As a result of this, all people arriving on such services originating within this three day period will need to go into 14 days of supervised hotel quarantine. The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee will consider further updates from New Zealand on 15-Feb-2021 and provide advice to the Chief Medical Officer regarding the management of travel arrangements between New Zealand and Australia.
