Austrian Airlines calls for EU level COVID-19 testing solution to alleviate travel uncertainty

Austrian Airlines called (06-Aug-2020) for the implementation of a comprehensive COVID-19 testing programme at the EU level, to be carried out on all passengers from high risk countries as a means of alleviating travel restrictions and uncertainty. The airline urged public authorities and governments to collaborate with airlines in order to introduce safe, practical and cost-effective testing methods and to coordinate them on an international level, such as between the EU and US. "The freedom to travel is an important cornerstone of our modern-day society which should not be curtailed in the long term.
