Austrian Airlines CCO: Bookings have quadrupled on some routes since mid May-2021

9 June, 2021

Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl reported (08-Jun-2021) forward bookings for the Jun-2021 to Aug-2021 period give the carrier cause for optimism. Mr Trestl said demand is "increasing daily", with new bookings on "many routes" having quadrupled since mid May-2021. He attributed the increase to eased travel regulations and rising vaccination rates. Mr Trestl said Austrian is expecting further growth in bookings following the recently announced easing of travel restrictions for Cyprus, Croatia, the Netherlands and Sweden, as well as with the 'Green Pass' system coming into effect.
