Bamboo Airways applies to US DoT to operate direct services to US and Canada

Bamboo Airways submitted (01-Jun-2021) an application to the US Department of Transportation to operate services from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Washington, Dallas, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. The services would operate via intermediate points in Taipei, Osaka and Nagoya. Bamboo additionally requested the exemption remain in effect for at least one year. It plans to commence the US services in 3Q2021 on a codeshare basis only with an authorised US or third country carrier. As previously reported by CAPA, the carrier was granted a regular flight slot to operate services from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco and LA from 01-Sep-2021 with long haul Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
