BARA: International arrival caps will result in more than 10,000 Australians left overseas

26 November, 2020

Board of Airline Representatives of Australia (BARA) stated (25-Nov-2020) Australia's international arrival caps will result in more than 10,000 Australian passengers left overseas by 31-Dec-2020. BARA said it firmly believes that the progressive reopening of domestic borders presents an opportunity to bring home many more Australians before the end of 2020 and into the early part of 2021, and is advocating for a risk based approach to international arrivals. BARA noted developing a risk based approach to international arrivals will allow more Australians stranded overseas to return home, while also allowing for business, student and personal travel to restart while mitigating the risk of coronavirus.
