Boeing 787 deliveries may not resume until late Oct-2021

9 September, 2021

Boeing reported it is engaged with the US FAA concerning issues with 787 production in order to address the concerns raised by the agency, which will result in a "near term impact" on deliveries (AFP/Reuters/AINonline.com/The Wall Street Journal, 07-Sep-2021). Boeing reportedly will defer resumption of 787 deliveries until at least late Oct-2021. Deliveries have been suspended since May-2021, due to the discovery of manufacturing defects, following an earlier suspension of deliveries in Nov-2020. The FAA stated it will not sign off on 787 inspections "until our safety experts are satisfied".
