Expedia Group Media Solutions reported (10-Aug-2021) beach and city destinations made up the top 10 booked destinations around the world during 2Q2021, although more cities are entering the top 10 or moving up in ranking in each region. Key growth cities for bookings including Chicago, Houston and Atlanta in North America; Seoul and Jeju in the Asia Pacific; Copenhagen and Paris in Europe; and Mexico City in Latin America. New York also made the list of top 10 booked destinations globally, and within all regions, except for the Asia Pacific. Regionally, the top 10 booked destinations were primarily for destinations within the same region, following 1Q2021 trends. However, Latin American travellers booked more international trips in 2Q2021, compared to the predominately regional bookings seen in 1Q2021.
