Frontier Airlines sees 'great' growth potential in future: CEO

9 November, 2020

Frontier Airlines CEO Barry Biffle stated the carrier sees "great" growth potential in the future, with expectations that Jul-2021 will be the "best July we've ever had" (Routes Online, 28-Oct-2020). He explained: "That's because a huge amount of the population will hopefully be inoculated and there will be huge demand to go to and explore. This is the absolute definition of pent-up demand". The carrier's relative cost advantage is anticipated to "expand dramatically", and it has "no intention" to make significant changes to its order book of 150 aircraft. "Assuming that by mid-next year [middle of 2021] demand is recovering, in order to exploit this opportunity, we need to be at full potential going into the fourth quarter". As such, the carrier is also looking at timing and ways to "double" its training capacity, so as to "make up for the time that we've lost".
