Gol aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050

Gol announced it aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 (Aeroflap/AEROIN/Contato Radar, 22-Apr-2021). Gol VP of operations Celso Guimarães Ferrer stated the LCC's "strategy to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 is focused on driving operational and technical improvements that reduce GHG emissions, improving fuel efficiency and replacing petroleum-based fuels with alternatives with lower carbon content". Gol technical advisor for renewable fuels Pedro Scorza added: "knowing the capacity and tradition that Brazil has in the production of biofuels, Gol understands that we have a privileged condition for the production in the national territory also of sustainable aviation fuels, which contributes to the achievement of the goal".
