IATA: Asia Pacific airline EBIT margins -39% for 3Q2020, USD31.7bn full year loss expected

IATA, via its Nov-2020 Asia Pacific Regional Briefing, reported (26-Nov-2020) its initial sample of 3Q2020 financial results showed that airlines in all regions posted another quarter of negative EBIT margin due to the modest travel demand recovery in the summer quarter, which is seasonally the strongest period in normal times. Asia Pacific airlines were comparatively less impacted, with EBIT margins down 39% compared to the industry wide decline of 63%.
