IATA digital health credentials will be essential as borders reopen

IATA stated (04-Oct-20201) it is "clear" that digital health credentials, providing documentation of vaccination or testing status, will be essential for airlines as borders re-open. The association warned that experience at the present low level of international travel "tells us that there will be chaos in airports if we rely on paper processes". IATA director general Willie Walsh said the EU has made a "good start" with the EU Digital COVID Certificate, and recommended it as the standard to follow for governments.
