IATA, via its Jul-2021 Airlines Financial Monitor, reported (26-Aug-2021) North American and Latin American airlines were the best performers in terms of financial results in 2Q2021, with domestic and regional traffic improving during the quarter.
- North America: Regional carriers, based on a sample of 12 airlines, achieved an aggregate EBIT margin of -13% in 2Q2021 (1Q2021: -70.2%), and an aggregate net profit of USD96 million (1Q2021: -USD5228 million);
- Latin America: Regional carriers, based on a sample of eight airlines, achieved an aggregate EBIT margin of -18% in 2Q2021 (1Q2021: -37.9%), and an aggregate net loss of USD702 million (1Q2021: -USD2091 million). [more - original PR]
