Iberia presented (20-May-2021) its ‘Next Chapter’ four year development plan, based around four key pillars and:
- Customers: Regain customer trust and position itself as an excellent airline in terms of COVID safety and services;
- Madrid hub: Recover connectivity and reposition T4 at Madrid Barajas compared to other European hubs, developing as a stronger operator, boosting the cargo business, and with the development of intermodality with the arrival of the AVE high speed rail service to T4;
- Sustainability: Improve the efficiency of operations and promote the development of sustainable fuels through the Iberia Chair;
- Employees: Encourage workers to become brand ambassadors to customers.
In the short term, the plan is focused on overcoming the current crisis, while in the long term, the plan is intended to position Iberia among the world’s leading airlines. [more – original PR – Spanish]
