JetBlue Airways and American Airlines launch first phase of codeshare agreement

JetBlue Airways and American Airlines launched (18-Feb-2021) the first phase of their codeshare agreement, which will commence from 25-Feb-2021. Details include:

  • Effective 18-Feb-2021, around 80 services sharing the JetBlue and American codes are available for booking as the airlines enhance schedules on key services to and from the northeast;
  • The carriers are introducing 33 new routes as part of the first phase of their alliance;
  • JetBlue's will codeshare on more than two dozen American routes and American will codeshare on more than four dozen JetBlue routes;
  • Customers of both JetBlue's TrueBlue and American's AAdvantage programmes will be able to enjoy reciprocal benefits, starting with the ability to earn points or miles on either carrier;
  • Over time, customers will also be able to redeem points or miles on either carrier;
  • The carriers are exploring opportunities to recognise JetBlue Mosaic customers and American's AAdvantage elite members across both carriers. [more - original PR]
