Lilium partners with ABB for charging infrastructure across regional air network

13 October, 2021

Lilium announced (13-Oct-2021) plans for ABB to provide charging infrastructure for Lilium's high speed regional air network in Florida, Germany and Brazil. ABB will develop, test and supply the MegaWatt Charging System as part of the agreement. The system will allow direct current charging up to 1000kW and can also be used for heavy duty vehicles. The network, scheduled for commercial launch in 2024, consists of a series of vertiports, which will have multiple parking bays and high power charging points. The ABB charging points are designed to fully charge batteries in around 30 minutes, charging up to 80% in 15 minutes, enabling the planned 20-25 daily flights per aircraft. The initial range of a seven seat Lilium Jet is expected to be 155 miles (249.5km) with a cruise speed of 175mph (281.6kmh). [more - original PR]
