Lufthansa plans to expand short haul services following strong business travel recovery

Lufthansa reported business travel continues to recover strongly, particularly in Austrian, Belgian, German, Swiss and Northern Italian markets, with the carrier planning to increase capacity and frequency on short haul routes by 15% (derstandard.at, 11-Oct-2021). Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr stated the opening of the US also created an extension of the summer 2021 travel season, expecting this "boom" to continue as the "business travel area" is less dependent on season.
