Oslo Airport to close terminal areas until 2021 due to low traffic volumes

19 November, 2020

Avinor announced (19-Nov-2020) plans to close Oslo Airport's north pier and eastern departure hall until at least 2021 due to low traffic volumes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. "Our updated traffic scenarios show that it is necessary to take these measures now... By physically shutting down these areas, we can save costs related to maintenance, electricity and other operating costs", Oslo Airport director Stine Ramstad Westby commented. Oslo Airport is maintaining single runway operations until at least summer 2021. [more - original PR - Norwegian]
